San Francisco's favorite French bakery, La Boulange, developed a new flagship store in the Union Square area and insite antiques & design was honored to be retained to conceive and execute its design. The program called for a memorable identity. The design concept, inspired by the industrial spaciousness of the interior setting, combined a clean modern loft-like approach with the simple informality of French bistros.

Bold, oversize lighting was used to accent the loft-like interior, and LED track lights were installed to conserve energy. Finishes and colors were carefully selected to evoke the chain's well known brand.

Table bases were re-cycled and powder coated in the store's signature colors and vintage French posters were used throughout to evoke a nostalgic era.

A lively wall of mirrors, framed in baker's pans, added a final touch of whimsy and character.
