This new La Boulange bakery, in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district, is the chain’s new catering branch. It is located in the Willis Polk designed Merchants Exchange building.

The building's exceptionally beautiful lobby inspired the unique design concept of installing glass-tiered hand blown chandeliers within custom coffered ceilings. These elegantly proportioned spatial elements help connect the customer back to an historic past and give the restaurant a dignified atmosphere, appropriate for its setting.

LED tracks were installed to conserve energy, and the same finishes as the
chain's Sutter Street branch were used for a sense of continuity.

A palette of aubergine and orange was used as accent colors. Existing table bases were powder coated in the store signature colors, extra large gilded mirrors were used to evoke the memory of a grand salon of a previous era, and a super-scaled photograph of one of the signature deserts becomes a mouth-watering welcoming touch.
